Cypress Employment has a client in West Mobile, AL looking for Structural Welders.
 
Job Purpose
Structural welders are responsible for joining together of metal components of products as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedure specifications, or oral instructions using electric arc welding equipment.

Job Responsibility Summary
The structural welder is responsible for welding/fabrication projects.
Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Performs hand grinding to prepare materials when needed.
Constantly checks the quality of own work to ensure work meets or exceeds quality standards.
Will often work in tandem with Fitters.
Works safely and maintains work area with high standards of housekeeping.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education
High school diploma or GED, preferred.
Training from a vocation school or previous employer in the use of the application tools and in the application techniques, preferred.
The ability to successfully complete training programs provided by MYER after recruitment.
Licensure/Credentials
Must pass an all position (3G and 4G) FCAW multi-pass single-V groove weld Welder Performance Qualification Test subject to Visual Examination and Guided Bend Testing per AWS D1.1.

Experience
Minimum of 3 years in a production welding role.

Special Knowledge / Skills
Multi-pass, all position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)
Heating – Oxygen/Propane Heating (torch)
Ability to read and interpret weld and welding symbols.
Experience working in a physically demanding environment.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and good safety practices.
Air carbon arc gouging.
Ability to properly use fillet and bridge cam gauges.
