ATSS Engineering has a client in Wisconsin looking for a Project Coordinator.
Position Summary: The functions of this position being the primary liaison between production and project management for new construction, major refit or repair projects. This includes monitoring work requirements and schedules, mitigating production constraints, establishing effective work sequences, ordering the required planning information and materials, measuring, and posting. As well as, reporting process performance for the area, progressing work, and helping to define best practices and performance standards and improve overall process performance.           

Detailed Description:

Acts as a liaison between Project Management and Production supervisors.
Assist production with organizing, managing, and controlling work while focusing on improving performance.
Drive safety and cleanliness on the project.
Lead safety initiatives, following the company policies and procedures.
Assist with investigation of safety hazards and managing all other risks in assigned area.
Establish and communicate production priorities and report process performance with all shop/ production/ trade managers on a daily basis.
Assist engineering in the documentation of best practices and defining performance standards, and improving performance.
Clarify work content and schedules, and provide feedback from the shop floor to improve production plans.
Work with Planning and Scheduling managers to report production area performance and activities to support production, and to seek upper level support when required.
Explain the production plan and performance for the work area to customer representatives.
Act to mitigate potential negative impacts.    
Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks.
Work cross functionally on material related process improvement projects to ensure our success.

 Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of construction processes and building science
Knowledge of shipbuilding workflow and production processes
Knowledge of shipyard material management practices
Basic working knowledge of ERP systems; demonstrated either through work experience or valid certification
Basic working knowledge of, and experience with, production planning practices
 Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Naval Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management
2 years’ shipyard work experience
Familiarity with relevant regulations (USCG, ABS, etc)
Basic working knowledge of network scheduling/CPM practices, demonstrated either through work experience or valid certification
Working knowledge of computer office applications, including spreadsheet charting, and outlook
