ATSS Engineering has a client in Pascagoula, MS looking for a Build to Test Coordinator.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Assist in the development of innovative shop and shipboard testing solutions that will facilitate early testing of ship components and systems with the objective of compressing the overall testing program. Identify means to attain cost reductions and performance improvements. This position works with all levels of management and employees within the company, customers, consultants, and sub-contractors. Reports to the Build to Test Manager.
Seeking experience in Auxiliary/mechanical systems.

Review ship specifications, contractual requirements, functional and detail design products, subcontractor agreements, and procurement specifications in order to develop system test strategies, plans, test sequence networks, and procedures.
Identify system interdependencies.
Develop and document entrance and exit criteria for major ship and ship-testing evolutions such as launch, machinery control system light off, fueling, electronics light off, engine light off, propulsion light off, and aviation certification.
Develop test sequence networks.
Influence engineering design considerations.
Influence development of construction and test plans and schedules.
Influence sub-contractors in the development of their design and test solutions.
Influence shipyard processes to improve quality and reduce cost.
Identify recurring families of quality escapes and influence their reduction or elimination.
Coordinate with production management in the development of cost, schedule and quality improvements.
REQUIRED/DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong writing, and presentation skills

Understanding of ship engineering, design, construction, and test processes.
Understanding of system engineering principles
Test conductor experience
Test procedure writing experience
Test witness experience
System commissioning experience
Familiarity with NAVSEA specifications and ABS regulations.
Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Project.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: B.S. Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or closely related area, or A.A. in a technical discipline or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities. The ideal candidate will have broad engineering skills, with experience with ship design, construction, test, systems integration, hull systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, machinery controls, C4ISR, and power generation and distribution.
Level A: 5+ years’ experience
Level B: 3 – 5 years’ experience
Level C: 0 – 3 years’ experience
