Job Description

Functions

Responsible for reporting to the Sr. Test Manager for management and execution of the assigned Test, Certification, and Preventative Maintenance Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Because the company is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Responsible for the execution of a robust total ship electrical test program including, but not limited to, development of test processes and procedures for all Electrical areas, including interfaces to other Shipboard Systems, including Controls. Ensure test reports are submitted in timeline required.
Ship Test Lead is responsible for managing ALL testing on assigned OPC Hull.
Coordinate production status with Hull Managers and Production.
Ensure Production and Hull Managers are focused on supporting Program milestones and key events.
Coordinate with Production Test, Program Test, Subcontractors, Material, Engineering, etc, to ensure the ability to meet Performance, Cost, and Schedule
Work with Production, QA, and Engineering to ensure 100% corrective actions, within the OPC Test team, are completed. Apply all trial cards and deficiencies discovered during test/QA and ensure Test Trial Cards are corrected prior to signing of DD 250.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Will not directly supervise employees assigned to the Test Dept. Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the Senior Test Manager.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Three or more years’ experience shipboard testing, developing procedures, performing test validation, verifying pre-requisites, and turning documentation into deliverable test reports. Must be able to quickly understand basic system operation and integration with Controls Systems. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot issues and failures.

Skills:

Intermediate-level Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations. Interpret contract requirements, specifications, and drawings into a comprehensive test program. Effectively present information, brief presentations and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public.  Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.  Forge and sustain outstanding client relationships while managing multiple workstreams.  Work independently and as part of the project team while exercising diplomacy and tact.  Rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.  Previous ship construction and test, or USCG/USN Service, with shipboard electrical experience. Experience developing test procedures using ABS NVR.  Experience with integration of a test program into Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), starting with design through fabrication, construction, and delivery.

This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and Shipboard during the production, outfit, test, and delivery phases of each Ship. Employees must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc., in all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
