ATSS Engineering has a client looking for a Design and Development Manager.

This position is responsible for providing technical guidance, support and assistance to 
the engineering staff, manufacturing staff, SPJP and customers regarding molded part 
design to ensure manufacturability, achieve customer satisfaction and profitable 
business.

Essential Functions:
-Manage the work and activities of subordinate design and engineering staff
-Provide New Tooling and Tool Modification Price for the Sales Department
-In conjunction with team members, position is responsible for all molded product 
design and engineering including:
1. Design reviews, with proper documentation and acceptance by customers
2. Communication within SPUS, with SPJP and other group companies and 
customers regarding molded part design to ensure manufacturability and
achieve customer satisfaction 
-Manage PRS requirements for molded product realization
-Establish measurable targets and drive improvements to meet or exceed 
measurable targets
-Support foam molding processing – technical and process support in the OH plant
and TN plant.
-Support SPUS Management team for smooth operations and continuous 
improvement in all areas
– Assist and advise SPUS Management team in any technical or equipment issues or 
matters, with regard to engineering, maintenance or operation
– Maintain open communication with direct staff, other associated team members and
management with respect to all aspects of work activities
– Develop detailed engineering designs
– Ensure part and tool design is within required specifications
– Modify existing parts for mold-ability
– Communicate directly with customers to fully understand product requirements and 
achieve desired end product
– Research and evaluate new technologies
– Train new employees and coach existing employees
– Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas
– Performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of quality and 
safety
– Enforce Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, and Environmental policies and procedures
– Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with 6S protocol
– Ensure the safety and productivity of direct report employees
