ATSS Engineering has a client looking for a New Business Development Manager.
 
Manager Department: Sales

Classification: Full-time, Exempt
 
Reports To: Director of Sales
Supervisory 

Responsibility: This position has no supervisory 
responsibilities
 
Travel: Travel is required for this position 
(50%) 
 
Required 

Education and 
Experience:
• Associates Degree in Technical, Marketing, or Business-Related field
• Four to ten years previous technical sales experience
• A valid driver’s license is required
 

Preferred 

Education and 
Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in the following majors: Engineering, Science (Chemistry, 
Biology), Marketing, or related discipline
• Proven track record of inside or field sales in the plastics industry

• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability in developing strong relationships with customers and manage 
customer expectations

• Must be entrepreneurial and have a proven track record of sales in the plastics 
industry

• Bilingual Japanese or Spanish a plus 
 
Expected Hours of Work:
Normal schedule is Monday through Friday with a schedule of 8 hours daily. This 
position will require weekly overtime and limited overtime on the weekends.
 
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. The noise level in the office 
is usually quiet to moderate.

This position is regularly required to perform work in a plant environment. This may 
expose the employee to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and wet 
areas. The noise level in the plant may be loud. There may be exposure to any number 
of elements but none present to the extent of being disagreeable.

an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
The employee is often required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and 
manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, 
reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop or kneel. This position 
involves lifting on average 10 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Continuous mental and visual attention required.
 
Position Summary:
Identify, develop and secure new business through sales activities in coordination with 
overall company goals and objectives.

Essential Functions:
• Management of existing customers in the Industrial market segment
• Implement sales strategy, including investigating and developing new markets and 
customers, for specific geographies, customers, markets and/or product lines as 
guided by sales and market strategies.
• Use pipeline reporting tools efficiently to document activity and manage territory.
• Develop account tactics (goal setting, time management, and resource allocation).
• When necessary, identify and acquire appropriate resources to implement sales 
strategy.
• Implement account pricing strategy within agreed upon guidelines.
• Work with technical and executive staff on development of opportunities for new 
products and in contract negotiations.
• Communicate value proposition and other critical information to customers.
• Acquire key information (sales forecasts, service needs, market trends, and 
competitor information) from customers and share with sales/technical/production
management to strengthen company position.
• Enhance customer relationship marketing to key accounts within assigned territory.
• Achieve superior customer satisfaction and ensures customer loyalty at key strategic 
accounts.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
