ATSS is looking for a Talent Development Leader for a client in Mobile, AL.

Education:                             Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university required

Certification:                         No certification required 

 

Experience:                           Minimum 5 to  10 years of relevant experience in Talent Development, Human Resources, Management, or related field, preferably in an engineering or related environment

Job Summary:

 

To promote talent development as an organizational priority by designing and executing formal training programs.  This position will periodically assess business needs and goals in order to establish and maintain learning systems that aim to drive continuous learning and improvement, and to stretch Teammates identified as high performing and/or high potentials.  As a partner to the Human Resources Team, this position will also share responsibility for performance coaching efforts.  As Leader of the Talent Development team, this position will partner with other internal teams, such as Safety and Quality, as well as identifying external resources and programs to facilitate the most effective learning opportunities.     

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Partner with Divisional and Executive leadership to identify talent development solutions that will have a measureable impact on productivity and performance.
Assess development needs and curate programs to match those needs.
Lead and supervise Talent Development Teammate(s).
Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results; modify programs as needed; develop effective, multi-media training materials.
Coordinate training schedules to minimize business disruption
Evaluate external training resources for applicability and effectiveness.
Coach Teammates involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities.
Support programs that aim to establish a foundation for succession planning by developing the leadership skills of Teammates identified as high potential and/or high performing. and succession plan for talent development opportunities.
Develop effective communication campaigns through use of various mediums to ensure Teammates are well informed on upcoming training opportunities.
Facilitate Franklin Covey content based on identified needs.
Facilitate all internally developed programs such as Project Manager Certification, Discipline Lead Fundamentals, Supervisor Certification, and Administrative Certification.
Monitor and manage spending to ensure cost containment and that the department’s budget is not exceeded.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

 

Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and instruction methods, preferably as applicable to engineering industry roles, terminology, and processes
Strong understanding of leadership and supervisory roles and their functions
Strong knowledge of and ability to apply Learning Management Systems (LMS) best practices
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Ability to manage a departmental budget
Proficient in coaching and mentoring, both in application and instruction
Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to give an influential and/or informative presentation
Ability to facilitate meetings and programs to ensure a smooth delivery facilitation skills
Ability to successfully lead a team to meet objectives timely, accurately, and successfully
Ability to build and maintain successful, professional relationships with Teammates of all levels
Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent professionalism and accuracy
Ability to motivate with a positive “will to win” attitude
Ability to manage time and shift priorities based on new circumstances and changes in business need
Ability to assess needs related to the talent development initiatives and produce training programs and materials to target these needs
Ability to moderate in large groups
Ability to travel including overnight, approximately 25% or more
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
