Project Engineer
Responsibilities
Primarily responsible to act as the liaison between the Customer, Designer and other major sub-contractors related to Propulsion Single Source Integrator, HVAC, Fire extinguishing, Outfit, Navigation and Communications etc. to ensure the technical information is flowing and design deliverables are released in accordance with the project schedule.
Interpret ship specifications and ensure the deliverables released for production are following the ship specifications and regulatory body requirements.
Review the design deliverables to ABS, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other regulatory body requirements and ensure the compliance.
Prepare, revise, and/or review functional design deliverables, engineering operating procedures, instructions, specifications, standards, and documentation.
Co-ordinate with regulatory bodies in submitting the documents for approval and to resolve the outstanding comments on any design deliverables.
Develop and maintain project Technical Action Item Logs, Requirement Matrices and ensure proper distribution of Design Documents to production team.
Prepare As-built drawings when needed.
Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Must be self-motivated and capable of working individually and as part of a technical team.
5 to 10 years of experience in ship functional design is preferred with overall understanding of ship design and building process.
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD and MS Project.
Knowledge of ship electrical and auxiliary systems is desired.
Ability to understand and interpret, implement, and design to various classification societies and regulatory bodies.
