ATSS Engineering has a client in Calvert, AL looking for a Engineer, Quality Outside Processing.
The ideal candidate will oversee Outside Processors working for the company to ensure that both business needs and customer requirements are satisfied. The candidate will also lead appropriate Outside Processing improvement and selection with both capability and capacity with quality and cost the focus to meet the business goals.
The Basics:
Safety focused
Bachelor of Science Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations
Experience/interest in learning how to use tools to develop tracking systems and dashboards
Data management interest and capability: extracting, sorting, and manipulating data for sharing to different audiences
Experience managing or interacting with Outside Processors
Intermediate with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, SAP)
Experience in the manufacturing of hot rolled, cold rolled, and coated coil steel products
Hands-on experience material claims process
Knowledge of recoil, slitting, blanking operations
The Extras:
Knowledge of barge, rail, and transportation of steel coils
Detailed knowledge of Outside Processors in southern USA & in Mexico
Knowledge of part template/ order creation process
Quality Assurance background
Knowledge of pricing systems
Experience in a Technical Service role
Experience with Automotive OEM specifications

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Manage Corrective Actions for Outside Processor Quality and Delivery
Ensure that all documents meet the requirements of the customers for content and timeliness responses and are complete to satisfy quality audit expectations
Ensure that they are read-across the appropriate components of the Calvert outside processing network
Monitor flow of product in Outside Processor inventories to ensure achievement on-time delivery metrics
Issue weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports that detail quality performance of the mill and processors within the OP environment
Evaluate monthly performance of Outside Processors and distribute monthly scorecards
Assist External Logistics in the management of Outside Processors
Participate in processor visits or review meetings to provide and review processor performance
Assist External Logistics with technical expertise and sourcing activity to attain the most cost efficient and quality effective solutions
Work with Technical Service and Mill Quality to ensure proper reprocessing and disposition of product
Work with Commercial, Technical Order, Technical Service Teams to create part templates
Work with External Processing Procurement to ensure proper financial accounting for Outside Processor transactions
Work with IT to ensure proper electronic data transfer of coil information and problem solving
Work with Mill Quality to manage coil referrals
YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office and industrial setting
Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL with some travel to Mexico
Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
