Overview
ATSS Engineering has a client looking for a Capital Projects Controller position.
The ideal candidate will prepare and analyze cost accounting data and provide proper financial support to business partners and management, act as a strategic partner to functional areas and/or mills and ensure the accuracy of financial and operating results to meet the business goals of.
The Basics:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field
3-5 years’ experience tracking and reporting large capital projects preferred
Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data accurately and timely
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
The Extras:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred
Prior experience using large ERP system, SAP preferred
Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards
Ability to perform financial analysis for payback period, ROI, IRR, and other financial metrics
Timely project close-outs, reconciling actuals to budgets, and assisting Project Manager’s with the retrieval of all final invoices
Interfaces with Fixed Assets to assure expenditures are accurately accounted for in SAP
Work experience in an industrial segment such as Metals, Mining, Marine, Paper, Cement or Power Generation and Distribution
Monthly reporting on actuals, commitments, latest estimates, and compliance

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Support Capex Team projects tracking and reporting
Involvement with key month-end closing activities
Supports capex routine with overall accounting and financial activities to measure and monitor all projects financial performance
Creates and maintains project level accounts
Prepares monthly reporting metrics, forecasts, and presentation to local area management and external stakeholders
Prepare projects close out information
Prepares and analyzes cost variance analysis reporting
Performs financial analysis of investing proposals, prepares capital requests and provide proper ROI documentation
Supports budgeting process
Implements and enforces company policies and controls
Regular interaction with support departments concerning projects
Key role in cross-functional projects
